The look at reverse immigration portrays what is perceived as a failure from the local perspective and represents an alienation and a sense of suffocation for someone who has lived for years in another society. Perhaps the portrayal of the characters lacks some emotional depth, with metaphors that may seem simplistic; however, set against the backdrop of the desert landscape, the film offers an unusual perspective on the pain of emigration.
