The first film I saw by the first female director ever. Alice Guy has an impressive resume, a pioneer of her time. That alone makes me appreciate this film, which has a fairly simple storyline, all the more. A touching film about a girl who tries to save her big sister's life by sticking the leaves back on the trees, because the doctor has said she will die as soon as the last leaf has fallen from the trees.
