[Venice '25] The most realistic fiction film possible about the migration routes of refugee families heading to Malaysia. There is a constant realism throughout a story that makes no concessions, being as harsh as possible, without falling into the romanticization of the journey, but also without falling into the melodrama of survival. Akio Fujimoto manages to construct a story that successfully balances the dramatic reality of the Rohingya refugees who, although aware of the dangers of the journey, seem to have no other option but to try to reach Malaysia, with the eyes of two brothers who, despite facing difficult situations, keep their innocence and hope alive.
