Of course, I watched it when he came out. In addition to the principled opposition of a little honest person to the system of bureaucracy, telephone law, conceited philistines guarding their little world with meanness, I remember Mikhalkov reveling in the role of a vile type. Then I still did not know that he was playing himself.
