[VdR '25] The film offers a collective portrait that reflects the isolation of a place that not only seeks to separate from civilization for fear of a misunderstood disease like leprosy, which in the past showed very evident physical scars, but also attempts to create an environment of tranquility that would promote the healing process of patients. The isolation of the San Francisco de Borja Sanatorium, founded by a Jesuit in 1909, was not so much for the protection of the healthy world, but for the protection of the other world of sick people, but at the same time it becomes a kind of prison.
