Looked gorgeous. Felt off. Like trauma told by someone who’s read about it but never sat with it. Amazing acting though—wish the story matched the depth

'gt;*"I look around my life and I see all these pieces of happiness, it's like i'm making a cake, and somebody's just thrown all the ingredients in a bowl, and that's... that's not a cake, that's a mess."* Go in blind for this one. ***Laced*** is a tense claustrophobic single location thriller. Claustrophobic because of the single location but also because of the situation these characters find themselves in, it feels like there's no way out. It plays with you on which character to root for. The characters are interesting and new ones pop up at the right moment to keep things interesting. A certain character remains intriguing throughout the movie, I just wish we got a little more. The acting and dialogue is good overall but a little unnatural from time to time. Creepy score in some parts, nice house location, cold weather feeling and decent camerawork. The direction is good but could have been a little better in the last third because it became pretty predictable. The ending might feel unsatisfying at first but if you look at the Easter eggs planted throughout, it's pretty obvious what happens once the movie's finished—so, good ending.

The ending was a bit meh but leading up to that was pretty full of suspense.

Don't know where I'm heading with this story, but so far, the intro into their lives leaves little to the imagination of what prompted our lead character into action. The plot thickens, and the guest list appears to be growing. I am unsure how this latest entry into this fiasco of an escape or adventure will lean into our next plot point. The up and down in this one are quite interesting, if nothing else. But the is this about you and your memories or the truth of who the sycophantic, narcissistic, abuser was behind closed doors. Starting to smell the horrid scent of betrayal wafting through the air, I truly hope in reading things wrong this time. It's Definitely worth the watch, and it's hopefully worth the wait until the finale.
