Don't know where I'm heading with this story, but so far, the intro into their lives leaves little to the imagination of what prompted our lead character into action. The plot thickens, and the guest list appears to be growing. I am unsure how this latest entry into this fiasco of an escape or adventure will lean into our next plot point. The up and down in this one are quite interesting, if nothing else. But the is this about you and your memories or the truth of who the sycophantic, narcissistic, abuser was behind closed doors. Starting to smell the horrid scent of betrayal wafting through the air, I truly hope in reading things wrong this time. It's Definitely worth the watch, and it's hopefully worth the wait until the finale.
This was Joe’s choice for our weekly movie swapping. I’m kind of thinking he chose this because he was in the mood for something with lesbians maybe? I’d honestly never heard a lick about this movie until he chose it. I’ll start by saying I actually really dug the setting. Some will say it felt claustrophobic but I actually thought it felt cozy. That cabin made me feel so relaxed and warm while watching this. It takes place during a snow storm but almost the entirety of the movie takes place inside the cabin. So we never really get that cold snowy feeling. The movie started pretty decent. I thought the middle half was intriguing and interesting. I was engaged enough to see where things would end up. I just think the longer this went on the more it fizzled. It’s a bit on the long side for a story like this. The script doesn’t give us enough to have this long of a runtime. The ending also missed the mark big time. I was prepared to give this a passable rating until it started to fall apart. This did have some positives though. The acting was surprisingly pretty good, you felt the atmosphere and it was intriguing. I do believe this could’ve been a total banger with a tighter script and more suspenseful moments. Oh well though, not everything can be a complete winner. With all of that being said, it’s not that bad, it’s also not very good either but you can do a lot worse. * Movie swapping with Joe
