Intriguing version of Jesus' time in the wilderness. Whilst not necessarily Biblical in its telling it is still authentic to the character Jesus may have been as He gets to grips with humanity and His mission. Quietly powerful.

A compelling poetic expression of Christ in the desert and the theme of the relationship between father, mother and son is authentic. There are so many psychological nuances in this film.

Last Days in the Desert is, according to IMDb, “An imagined chapter from Jesus' forty days of fasting and praying in the desert.” Writer/director Rodrigo García surely has an overactive imagination – or not active enough, depending on how you look at it; on the one hand, Jesus speaks English More
