This gothic fantasy folk horror is a slow film focused on surrealism, with heavy emphasis on atmosphere and style. It's stylish, haunting and unsettling, featuring plenty of dreamlike, mind-bending, head scratching elements. And those elements are pretty consistent throughout. The consistency in being surreal reminds me a lot of _Black Moon_. While this film isn't nearly as exciting as Bava's other work and it has a very thin narrative, the oppressive atmosphere and a couple of genuinely horrific and disturbing scenes are enough to make it worth seeing. I wouldn't say this is one of Bava's best but it's definitely an interesting one.

"Devil in the House of Exorcism" is an alternative title to "The House of Exorcism" which is a really weird poster to have with this version of the movie, because this one - as title and year clearly state is the original version as Mario Bava intended it (for the other look up " More
