I was surprised that the Japanese horror filmmakers don't seem to have advanced since the time Ringu and Ju-on introduced the Western audiences to the, then scary, long-haired scruffy girl creeping around in a freaky way. I also felt that this was targeted at the YA market and it may go down well with anyone who doesn't mind very ham acting. There was some interesting content but it felt jammed in for the sake of it.
