My Best Friend Anne Frank - Comments & Tips

It showed a side of Anna Frank that I never seen or heard about before. The movie made her look like she was a selfish attention seeking thief and a horrible friend. Hannah Goslar saw Anna as her best friend it almost felt like she was inlove or obsessed with Anna. Anna was her world and thought about her all the time, she stayed loyal to her till the end! This while Anna chose attention from boys and popularity above Hannah.

I don't know how accurate the portrayal of their relationship is... but they made Anne look like a selfish annoying prat, which was completely unnecessary.

It's interesting to see a different story than Anne's but so close to hers. It made me think long after I finished watching just like Anne's diaries stayed with me. I'm not sure how accurate it is but it follows the book that Hanneli worked on herself so it might actually be pretty accurate. We can't forget (if it is accurate) that this was her point of view and it's normal for it to differ from Anne's. I see a lot of reviews mentioning Anne's "selfish" side but if you read her diaries I find this is pretty accurate too and normal because let's keep in mind that she was a child going through puberty in search of her self and making sense of a very broken world in a harsh reality. The movie moved me.
