My Mom Jayne - Comments & Tips
I'm not crying, you're crying. Beautiful tribute to a misunderstood woman.
Just an amazing biography. I don't normally watch bio docs, but this one was incredible.
Amazing story Mariska was able to tell about her mom and how it's affected her life. Watching this you can see that Mariska is Benson in so many aspects. This documentary has heart 'amp; soul. Nothing elaborate or super grabbing, just the simple truth and feelings. A wonderful story that I am glad Mariska was able to share now that she's ready.
A very personal retrospective on a star of the 1950s and 1960s, mostly seen through the eyes of her now grown-up kids. While it is for sure very personal and deep for fans of Jayne Mansfield and even for people interested in the era, it is a bit too personal for me. This does certainly not mean that it is bad, but it is not really for me. I hardly know the star and I am not really into gossip. But if any of that is you thing, this is for sure an interesting movie.
I almost turned this off twenty minutes in, and I am so glad that I didn't. It wasn't that I thought it was bad - I just wasn't up for what seemed like it was going to be a family retrospective. Wow! What a story. I thought Ms. Hargitay did an incredible job telling it, especially an incredible final thirty minutes. What probably doesn't get enough discussion is the way that Mansfield was treated by Jack Paar and anyone else that could not stop objectifying her. Like so many other things in this doc, it was heartbreaking to see. follow me at https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies
