[Berlinale '26] Centered on the protagonist's inner quest, which is reflected in an external search for the truth surrounding the talent of a precocious artist, the film is expressed through the silences and journeys Mihail undertakes through a Bulgaria that now seems unfamiliar to him. The film effectively conveys this feeling of estrangement, of being a stranger in one's own land, although the persistent melancholic tone of the second half can make it somewhat monotonous. It strikes a delicate balance between a reflective story about origins and a desire to show the connection between art and its environment.
