[TIFF '25] The documentary's greatest strength, but also its harshest moments, lies in the personal testimonies of victims of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church. But it is very clear in its denunciation of a hidden complicity of the ecclesiastical hierarchy, with excommunications lifted and promises of investigations that drag on. The Church prefers to air its dirty laundry internally, but with the intention of turning abusers into sinners rather than criminals. The testimonies are a reflection of the lack of interest in the addressing allegations of abuse.
