Sasyq - Comments & Tips

[Fantasia '25] Beyond the more obvious comparisons, the film manages to create solid characters that bring humanity, even in the case of a scatological-looking alien trying to understand the strange society he's arrived in. But it also adds some political touches regarding corruption and authoritarianism that place it in line with other Kazakh films, although in this case addressing a genre uncommon in that small industry. In its modesty as a simple story with some social notes, it ends up working very well within its genre because it manages to compose an absolutely charming story.
