[PรFF'21] The director uses the square format to show the oppression of the protagonist, a German writer whose Jewish family is sentenced to deportation. It is a very cinematographic resource that is wrapped in a theatrical staging, in which the walls of the home also increasingly compress the characters. This theatricality hurts the film, but maintains an startling silence on the dramatic fate of the characters.

It was terrible. The terrible times. Film, as a theatre spectacle, moving the most. I'm still stunned. Masterpiece in showing difficult decision about commit suicide.
