Secret Magic Control Agency - Comments & Tips

Take the most generic spy premise in the world, slap on a barely present and super forced fantasy theme, and add just a dash of D-Tier DreamWorks, and... Yeah this is about what you get. Uncompromisingly boring and equally as uninspired, what really makes this film painful is the flat voice acting and just how unbearably unlikable the two leads are.

Eh, I didn't really like this one. I don't think it actually has any AI elements to it, but it did seem to have a kind of AI quality to it? Like, it reminded me a bit of the random AI movies found on YouTube. I can't place what exactly makes me think that, I think something in the character design? But besides that the voice acting also wasn't that great, that was pretty mid. They also shoehorned in the fact that it was a fairytale retelling. It really wasn't. The main characters did have the names of Hansel and Gretel and there was a Baba Yaga thing and there were stones to follow home like crumbs and that was it. There weren't any other fairy tale references I don't think. The movie had some sweet moments, but ultimately nothing about it truly captured my attention or entertained me this whole time. Which is a shame because I was really excited about this movie and the potential of the plot. I mean spy fairy tales?? That had so much potential.

_Secret Magic Control Agency_ is a fun animated film that puts a new spin on a classic Grimm fairytale. When the king is abducted by a witch and placed under an enchantment, Agent Gretel of the Secret Magic Control Agency is tasked with finding him; but to do so she’s forced to team-up with her estranged brother Hansel. The writers do an impressive job at adapting and mixing in different Grimm fairytale elements together, and the animation is especially good, with bright crisp coloring. The score is also well-done and enhances the magical, storybook aesthetic of the film. It’s a little formulaic at times, but overall _Secret Magic Control Agency_ is entertaining and delivers some laughs.

This was a fun movie. I especially liked the dynamic between Hansel and Gretel, especially the way the concept of sacrifices for family was handled.

Nice but not amazing. I would love a much more simple movie about secret spies

I can not recommend this movie. I found it wholly unremarkable. Maybe I just had a bad night - but there was nothing interesting or different about this movie. I do have to say it did make me smile and even chuckle a couple of times but all in all it''s just nothing movie. Sorry.
