Like losing someone close: the passing of the loved one pains like the passing of time which serves to remind how sweet the times were before. _Sleepless City_ / _Ciudad sin sueño_ is the story of a young Gitano boy living in a shanty town outside of Madrid, and his struggles to grow in a community, neighborhood and family that's under continuous flux. That director Guillermo Galoe filmed this on location (in Cañada Real, outside Madrid) with non-professional locals, and focused more on what happens behind closed plywood walls and corrugated metal doors than the coming-of-age narrative makes this film a sincerely good watch.
