Even though "Slumber Party Massacre II" is a fun slasher in places, the movie is ultimately pretty pointless. Although the killer has a much cooler look than in the first part, his integration into the plot is really nonsensical. And yet, the group of "teenagers" who are the focus here are actually not that bad. However, you can't really get excited because there is never any real sense of danger. Unfortunately, the kills aren't exactly creative either. There is also surprisingly little nudity for an 80s slasher. Overall, I would say that the ingredients for a better movie are definitely there, but the execution is poor.

Slumber Party Massacre II has no real resemblance to the first one. It's actually more of a cheap Nightmare on Elm Street rip-off than a Slumber Party Massacre sequel. It's slow to get started, and never really gets going until the last half hour or so. The ending also leaves a lot of questions... Is this all in the girls head? Is she actually in a mental hospital? Is the villain real or not? All things I'd like an answer to... Anyway... For the first half, this felt like a dud, but it picked itself up to be mildly entertaining. Not on par with the first one, though. That's for sure...
