Solo Mio - Comments & Tips
Such a charming movie. Definitely going into my “Will watch again” collection. Hence my rating of 8/10. Bonus: While taking us through the Italian scenery, the movie also takes its soundtrack to the next level by featuring Andrea Bocelli himself.
in James has made a career out of a bumbling everyman persona, the average Joe caught in the mercy of those more charismatic, intelligent, or malicious than he is. His newest, “Solo Mio,” a Kinnane Brothers production, is a departure in genre, but finds him in no more control, at least to start. Matt Taylor (Kevin James) is an elementary school art instructor who has found The One in fellow teacher Heather (Julie Ann Emery). After a sweet in-class engagement, the couple jets off to Rome to tie the knot. But Heather leaves Matt stranded at the altar. Now, their wedding and honeymoon in disrepair, Matt must make the most of his unexpectedly solo trip. Booked on duo excursions, like tandem bicycling and romantic candlelit dinners, Matt’s lonesome attendance draws the eyes of fellow honeymooners.
I am try to find flaws in this movie, but I cannot.Yes, this is a MUST-WATCH!
Surprisingly good, I had low expectations from this movie. It’s a feel good movie, I felt like ending was rushed and there are some things that are left uncleared. Overall, a good watch.
As an Italian man married to an American woman I can say this: the amount of stupid stereotypes this movie leverages to have anything funny to say is borderline offensive. Characters take embarassingly unrealistic decisions just for the f of it and to be frank the entire plot is just plain stupid. Cringe af, avoid.
Gave it 30 minutes and didn't laugh once. Lame story.
A welcome return to form For Kevin James after the awful Playdate!!! A really charming sweet film highly recommend

This is definitely the type of movie that I would always enjoy and surely enough I absolutely did with this. I really enjoyed the romantic build up. I absolutely loved Kevin James here. The supporting characters were really likable and enjoyable as well. I honestly laughed a decent amount. I also had a smile on my face for the entirety of the movie. I liked the story and the pacing. The setting was really nice too. This was a really heartwarming and wholesome movie. There’s some fun to be had, a few laughs and a nice romantic story. I would definitely recommend giving this one a shot. * AMC Crestwood 18
