X-Men x TerraFormars coupled with teen angst. The story drags in places and the '"bad guy'" hasn''t a clear motivation. The characters are also not very flashed out and world building for this setup is absent. Being adapted from three novels might have something to do with that. It''s best to look at this at a Japanese attempt on superhero movies so leave your brain at home :/.
