[ArteKino '22] A film that understands the characters, and in its apparent simplicity knows how to convey the perception of depressive states and their complex treatment. When Paulius hides the reference to the psychiatric hospital from the doors of the car in which he travels, he is claiming the possibility of being seen as a human being instead of in the condition of his psychological challenges. There is a subtle look in the script towards the treatment of a disease that slowly devours from within, and building a road movie that places each character in a different position.
Mental health on screen is still a taboo considering how little time is dedicated to this topic. This movie has the merit to shine a light upon it while almost anybody else does.
