Ted Bunny - User Reviews
Ted Bunny (2026) is the kind of misfire that makes you wonder how many red flags were ignored on the way to release. What should have been a sharp, darkly comic riff on a bizarre premise instead collapses into a confused, tonally incoherent slog that feels stitched together from half-finished ideas. Story & Tone The film can’t decide whether it wants to be a parody, a thriller, or a quirky character study. Instead of blending genres, it ricochets between them with no rhythm. Scenes meant to be funny land with a thud, dramatic beats evaporate instantly, and the plot meanders so aimlessly that even the movie seems bored with itself. Characters Ted himself is written with all the depth of a mascot costume. The supporting cast fares no better—everyone feels like they’re acting in a different movie, and none of those hypothetical movies would be good. Attempts at emotional resonance are so forced they border on unintentional comedy. Direction & Pacing The pacing is a disaster. Long stretches drag without purpose, only to be interrupted by abrupt tonal shifts that feel like reshoots stapled onto the original cut. The direction offers no vision, no energy, and no sense of what the film wants to be. Technical Craft Even the technical side can’t save it. Flat lighting, awkward editing, and a score that seems to be guessing what emotion the audience should feel all contribute to the sense of a production that never found its footing. Final Verdict 1/10. A bewildering, shapeless mess that fails as comedy, fails as drama, and fails as entertainment. The only real mystery is how it made it past the pitch stage.
