Terror, Sisters! - Comments & Tips
I got to stop watching things that are recommended from random film articles. I didn’t enjoy anything about this 30 min short.
[MUBI] Alexis Langlois doesn't try to adapt to conventions, but rather claims the difference of building a comedy that hides profound drama. The heteronormative society is reflected in a camp and gore film that fights against hate by rejecting passivity. Transphobia is fought with cisphobia, against that subtle discrimination of looks, smiles and whispers. It is an extravagant proposal because it needs to be visible.
Pretty fun time. I love what they did with the color and visuals! So over-the-top and creative. I liked the main characters, they're funny and genuinely seem having a really good time. The musical part was super cheesy but I liked it! The message could be more powerful if they didn't hold back.
