The Day After Tomorrow
After years of increases in the greenhouse effect, havoc is wreaked globally in the form of catastrophic hurricanes, tornadoes, tidal waves, floods and the beginning of a new Ice Age. Paleoclimatologist, Jack Hall tries to warn the world while also shepherding to safety his son, trapped in New York after the city is overwhelmed by the start of the new big freeze.

On the one hand, I love the special effects used in this pretty dated movie. Not my first time to watch it (I think I watched it years ago when Netflix was still mailing out DVDs) and it was still very good...as far as the effects go. As with most blockbuster disaster movies, there isnât a lot of scientific accuracy in _The Day After Tomorrow_. Itâs much happier placing an emphasis on hand-wringing anticipation and large-scale destruction than minding the boring constraints of reality. I think audiences are happier that way, More
