Pros: creepy retirement-home setting; trippy nightmare moments; intense bloody finale | Cons: slow first half; predictable scares; messy plot holes

Will You Like This?

You’ll likely enjoy this if you want a slow-burn mystery that turns into a brutal, twisty horror ride with surreal moments, like The Ward or Ghostland; Not for you if you hate gore, eye stuff, or uneven pacing.

The Home sets itself up as a mix of giallo excess and Get Out paranoia. Pete Davidson does an okay job as Max, stuck in a retirement home crawling with unsettling residents. There are moments where the style and atmosphere click, and the old-people-creep factor works. The problem is the middle. Scenes drag, tension stalls, and the pacing feels like a test of patience—classic giallo tradition, but not always in a good way. Still, the finale goes gloriously off the rails, delivering a payoff that’s chaotic, bloody, and almost worth sitting through the dull stretch before it. If you liked… The slow-burn payoff of Suspiria mixed with the paranoia of Get Out, filtered through giallo’s uneven rhythm.

This is a fun movie if you aren't a pretentious prat.

I've been trying to watch this movie for a week. For a moment, I thought, "Why am I putting myself through this? If it's bad, it's bad, just turn it off. I didn't like it. The acting, effects, and script are okay. It's a 4 out of 10 movie at most. Still, thank you for your effort.

The first half of the movie is slow but sets a decent atmosphere The second half kicks in and starts answering questions and hooking you. Then that finale just goes bonkers. Great finish was worth the watch.

The ending of this movie was filled with the ultra violence on a Clockwork Orange level!!!

I left the theatre laughing because I couldn’t believe i wasted money on this horse poo lmaoo .. do not watch this movie if you want to keep your brain cells 1/10

Pete Davidson's version of Get Out. It's a good premise but Pete is just not a good fit for this role.

This film was basically an allegory for boomers that sold out future generations for the sake of their own immediate comfort, with a smattering of adrenochrome torture thrown in for good measure. People that are too dumb to make this connection are probably also the ones that came away disliking it; just look at all the illiterate retards shitting on it here and wherever else audience reviews exist. Despite its many flaws, the film pays off nicely and with a surprisingly touching tone — brotherly love isn’t always pretty, but the intent behind even the most disgusting gestures remains pure. The budget for this film was clearly on the smaller side, but you can tell there was lots of ambition with the project. That said, I think they went a bit overboard in many areas that simply didn’t add anything to the story — gross for the sake of gross, weird for the sake of weird, and so on. Overall, I find this movie a refreshing change of pace from your standard horror fare. This is one bittersweet happy ending that felt earned.

Like most people, I watched this for Pete Davidson, and to keep this short, unlike the 9-hour runtime, "The Home" should have stayed home. The engagement level and story are weak and poorly told. The performances are unintentionally comedic. The horror is cringe-worthy. The camerawork and editing don't feel structured. The dialogue is stiff, and the non-existent tension relies on clichés. It feels like one long drawn-out SNL sketch. At least he's guaranteed that Dubai bag?

what a fun escalation
(god there were so many intestines)
Not even 20 minutes into the movie and the bizarre behavior and dreams have started, they're quite engaging and give me anticipation of what is possibly to come... The dream sequences are haunting and terrifying in a way that leaves you craving more, I love how disturbing they are... There are so many ins and outs, all in such a way as to lead us down an insane journey down the rabbit hole of science or madness for all of us to enjoy whether we want or not. All the distractions and false leads are brilliant and inspired, as far as this Movie Fan is concerned... Absolutely Brilliant Film...
