The Last King of Scotland
Young Scottish doctor, Nicholas Garrigan decides it's time for an adventure after he finishes his formal education, so he decides to try his luck in Uganda, and arrives during the downfall of President Obote. General Idi Amin comes to power and asks Garrigan to become his personal doctor.

Choosing to base the film around the experiences of a fictitious doctor did the film a disservice, I think. This is an important historical story to tell, and it's clear that many parties agreed from the production trivia. So why inject such a large note of "fakeness"?

According to Wikiquote, a āBritish officialā once said that Idi Amin needed āthings explained in words of one letter.ā It is one of The Last King of Scotlandās few flaws that it assumes we need things seen through the eyes of a white Westerner.
