Overview
Arrebato (1980) is the great cult movie of today's Spanish cinema and Iván Zulueta, its director, an accursed filmmaker. Arrebato was the film that forecast the end of the movida, a dark and harrowing reel whose history and intra-history are intimately linked. Arrebato acts as a premonition of the director’s own life. Just like his actors, Zulueta will end up being brought down by drugs and the cinema and, like them, will also disappear.

[Movistar+] A journey through the passions and anxieties of one of Spain's most controversial filmmakers, who attempts to reclaim his legacy by making him a secondary character in his own story. The formal construction of the vampirism of cinema, which extends to the very making of the documentary-fiction, becomes its main problem, because it constantly gives the impression that there are more interesting things to tell in the background of the past than in the reproduction of the present. However daring it may be, it feels too artificial and egocentric.
