Superman: The Mechanical Monsters - Comments & Tips

This has such a cool look to it. I love the way the villain sits at his control panel and pushes buttons, each one controlling a numbered flying robot. It's kind of funny that during the jewel robbery, the number of the attacking robot switches back and forth between "5" and "13"...a little bit of a quality control issue there. Superman is great here but he actually looks more imposing as Clark Kent. The action sequence when Superman is fighting robots and bashing down doors is punishing and visceral. A little light on story but it's an old theatrical short and that's what they were. 11 minutes of joy.
