Very predictable **Bad News Bears** ripoff. Not a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly not extremely creative.

This movie has a lot of nostalgia! Haven't seen it in a while but I still love it!

A lawyer coaches a children's hockey team.

Man, in terms of childhood classics, this one still holds up. And that ain't the nostalgia goggles talkin'; even if you knew nothing about hockey after first seeing this, it still made you wanna go out and learn to play. And in terms of casting, this was like the Mickey Mouse Club '92 NBA Olympics "Dream Team" of child actors, because most of 'em would stay in the Disney stable for years, most notably Aaron Schwartz and Shaun Weiss, who'd go on to star in that classic Dodgeball prequel Heavyweights in only a couple years after this. Still so strange to see such a baby-faced Joshua Jackson as Charlie after decades of him playing *much* different roles.

I really had a lot of fun with this! It's predictable but it's a feel-good movie and I really liked these characters. Somewhat looking forward to the sequels, hoping they'll be of similar quality and I wonder if it's just a repeat of this one.

Like ''Slap-Shot'' but with kids.

Just what I needed, a feel good movie. It''s cheesy and wholesome. That kid wanted a dad figure so bad.

'gt;'"I hate kids. They''re barely human.'" Gone are the days where I would rollerblade in my neighborhood thinking I was just as cool as the mighty ducks. The winner of this movie for me is David Newman''s score.

Very good. <em>'The Mighty Ducks'</em> is a film that I've heard about for a long, long time but this was my first time watching. I enjoyed it, in short. Satisfying sports story, a solid message, decent humour and a serviceable cast. Emilio Estevez is fine in the role of Gordon, he's definitely the best actor on display here. The numerous child actors are all alright, Shaun Weiss (Goldberg) is the one who stands out in my memory most. A nice little film about a local, youth ice hockey team, one for the family.

**(As part of my New Year's resolution for 2018, I will be more focused in my movie reviews and avoid unnecessary filler. Therefore, my reviews from now on will be shorter and more to the point.)** I grew up around Disney. Between seeing their films both in theaters and on VHS and DVD, watching their cable network and even their production on ABC, and playing computer and video games based on their properties, you could say I had a very Mousey childhood. So, you'd probably expect me to say that I enjoyed this movie. To a degree, I did; the stories of both Coach Bombay and his ragtag hockey team were very inspiring. As an old-school flick, this also took me back to my childhood. Unfortunately, it was also edgier than I was expecting. With a movie about hockey--or pretty much any contact sport--you expect some rough-and-tumble action, and that's what you get here, though none of it is bloody or graphic. What I didn't expect was some un-Disney-like language: the d-word and h-word get a bit of a workout, and there are also a-words and misuses of God's name. Worse yet, some of the expletives are uttered by the kids. While I expected a small amount of profanity--seriously, a "PG" film without any is rare--I found the amount here to be a little too high. Add a scene involving kids looking at dirty magazines (though no nudity is shown,) and I can't recommend this to discerning viewers or families with little kids, unless you have a device that eliminates profanity from your viewing choices. Score: 2.5/5
