The original title of the film is Le Ballon Rouge.

A cinematic masterpiece. Watched this as a young child, and remembered this for the rest of my life. Now watched this again 40 years later and still as good as modern cinema. A true classic well ahead of its time. 1956 but the direction is superb. A true classic that can be watched by young and old.

Maybe an inspiration for Pixar''s Up?

I see that this featurette receives universal acclaim, so rather than embarras myself, I''ll just say _The Red Balloon_ feels like a poem that''s trying to rhyme.
