The Thinking Game - Comments & Tips

This is a deeply fascinating documentary about the perhaps most important development in human history. Could have used a bit more technical detail and mention of other AI labs (e.g. the "ChatGPT moment") and a bit less personal info on Demis Hassabis. Still, show this to friends and family members who still don't get why AI is a big deal or who are sceptical.

Deepmind has undoubtedly been revolutionary. But somehow, this felt a bit like an ego trip - the chess illustration, comparing Demis with Einstein at the IAS, the Nobel. I'm always a bit suspicious of people who try too hard to portray themselves in a positive light.

whoa - I didn't realize this was going to be such a catch up from AlphaGo. I think it's fascinating to hear how it went on to evolve into AlphaZero beating Fan Hui, evolve into AlphaStar, and then the ups 'amp; downs of AlphaFold. I think it would be very interesting to hear more about the breakthroughs being created w AlphaFold - I would have assumed something COVID related would have come out of it. It is a very nice biography on Hassabis 'amp; his influences as a child 'amp; how practically minded he has been since a young age!
