The Titan - Comments & Tips
i got a major problem with the premise: so they modify our genetics to be able to survive titan because we cant survive on Earth, right? so why donยดt change us so we could.... just live on earth? ^^
Shape of Avatar 2: Interstellar
a compelling and paced opening that doesnt deliver in the back end. the acting is solid the writing and directing are okay. until the movie can''t stall any longer and is forced to try to do something with what build up it has. then it stumbles and falters to a finish.
Am Worthington is amazing in this, please make a sequel as would like to see more titan and how humans change to Sam Worthington amazing titanium...worth watching for sure
This is one of the worst sci fi movies I have seen in a while. The premise is interesting, but it turns into a boring story that makes no sense. The director figured out a few plot points and then had absolutely no idea how to tie them together.
I'm not sure why I watched this. I knew the reviews were not great and the concept (genetically engineering GONE WRONG!) seemed meh, but...well...maybe it would be ok? Sam Worthington and Taylor Schilling were trying, but the concept seemed pretty...dumb? The world's environment is changing too fast for man to survive so instead of figuring out how to change people to survive on Earth, they turn folks into monster-folk that they'll shoot to Jupiter's moon to live? Even suspending disbelief for that, the slow and mysterious burn of the first half of the film falls apart in the neutered action and puzzling plotting of the latter half. The reviews were right. This wasn't good.
So, humans need to leave Earth because is not longer sustainable, right? that''s the movie''s plot. I don`t understand, the movie showed beautiful Earth''s landscapings, mountains, lakes, basically the showed a planet full of life. Then, they '"enhance'" humans, to go and live in a planet that looks like the heart of a volcano? Doesn''t make sense.
Not a great movie - just OK - it was just good enough to give it a thumbs up on Netflix. ...and I liked Pedro''s comment here - why not just genetically modify humans to survive on Earth?
Outer space Filet-o-fish
Terrible writing and editing. Story idea had possibilities but never got a chance.
I think they forgot the purpose of the plot in the end: so we will be saved by a single man on Titan who canโt even communicate or do a single useful thing a part from swimming, flying and killing?
Some good people involved in this, all trying, I hope, to make a decent film. I wonder at which point they realised... As pointed out in another comment, the premise itself doesn''t stand up to a minute''s scrutiny, and there isn''t enough in character/action going on to make you forgive/forget the stupidity of the plot. Save yourself the time with this one... Take up Tai chi instead. Or pottery, and at least you end up with some jugs.
now all he has to do up there by himself is starve until he''s able to grow some food, try not to get mind numbingly bored with zero entertainment, others, or creatures, try to breed without a mate like him, and build up an entire society just like the one back home.
There are still all these trees and rivers and mountains and it doesn''t seem too late to change the way we live in order to repair earth, but sure, let''s change our genetics instead. Pretty cool story, right? A lot of people will volunteer for this shit knowing full well that they won''t even be human anymore but what the hell let''s do it I''m down
Pretty poor story that doesnโt seem to go anywhere. Lame dialogues and decent to bad acting. Conclusion... waste of time.
Interesting topic and it starts well, but then it gets lost and the end ........
'gt;'"No one attempts the impossible without belief in something greater than themselves. Even if that something is a someone.'" Sam Worthington... I really thought you were going to be the biggest star a decade ago when you showed up in Terminator Salvation and Avatar. This movie hurt to watch. The first half was actually interesting and I started to get excited but then got utterly disappointed with the second half. Got Splice vibes from this.
