The Velvet Vampire - Comments & Tips

Did I enjoy this? Yeah, I did. Could it have used another round of edits? Yeah, probably. We've got a couple, married about two years, at a desert estate owned by a vampire... but of course, they don't know. Things are a bit off in a lot of regards, but our vampire's seduction skills are unmatched, to the point where the wife is more jealous of her husband than anything else. There were some bits that dragged, of course. The ending felt really out of place.
I don't mind pacing changing for the end of a horror movie, but second-to-last set of scenes with the location changes, the chase scenes, and the group religious iconography beat down just didn't feel like the same movie. Now, the actual ending scene? Very much felt right. Maybe it's that I felt the climax inside the house was adequate? Fleeing would have been enough; Diane didn't need to leave.
Anyway, enjoyable film I don't regret watching but don't plan to watch again.
