Unfortunately, investigative journalism is becoming less and less relevant. This is mainly due to the changing media landscape, where the focus is now on chasing one breaking news story after another. And, of course, the fact that political scandals nowadays seem to have hardly any consequences also plays a role. โ€œCover-Upโ€ examines the career of journalist Seymour Hersh, who has uncovered numerous scandals since the 1960s. And it is precisely this look back at the past that is the most interesting aspect of the documentary, with original footage cleverly incorporated, making it almost a shame that the individual stories are not given more time. For my taste, however, the film is too uncritical of Hersh, who has lost the support of all the major media outlets, especially with his more recent publications. In this sense, the journalist himself is a good example of the decline of investigative journalism, and I think this should have been emphasized more. Apart from that, though, the film is definitely worth seeing, especially for history buffs.

Can you imagine what it must go on under Trump's government? A government of even more morally bankrupt people? This is why investigative journalism is essential.

The pictures shown of torture were heartbreaking. Can give anyone sleepless nights. I wonder about the people who actually carried out those acts - what they were made of.

Must watch. Seymour Hersh is probably one of the most important journalists of the modern era to shine a light on the US political military machine.
