Unwelcome - Comments & Tips
“It’s a monkey” “It’s wearin’ feckin’ clothes” “Monkeys wear clothes in the circus” “You should be in a feckin’ circus!” First half is great when a couple employ the builders from hell. Second half goes a bit crazy with creatures from the woods.
This year started with $hitty movie
Yea.. strangest thing I've sat through. Ending really really bad.
As a fan of the genre, this is one of the worst "horror" movies I have ever seen.
Not great. They overdid it with the lighting, which make it look like they were 50 metres away from the Sun, rather than Ireland of all places. It made everything look so fake and artificial. The over the top bad acting didn't help. And for God's sake, give Kristian Nairn some "normal" roles.
This was much better than expected - edgy and powerful with excellent directing and acting. Please ignore the bad comments - this is definitely worth a watch… right to the bitter end :-) 7.5/10
What could have been an enjoyable horror comedy, perhaps on the same level as Evil Dead 2 or Malignant, but the film takes itself way too seriously to the point where I got uninvested watching it. The characters were atrociously written and got on my nerves. I can tell the filmmakers were trying to make this look visually interesting, but the strangest thing that stood out is that every outdoor scene looked like a sound stage rather than an outdoor environment. Maybe it was the lighting, but everything looked and felt so phony. The third act is where things get going. However, it is not worth sitting through this just for those few minutes.
Starts as a real world horror then went into the supernatural, hard.
'gt;*"What is it?" "A big fuckin' rat?"* ***Unwelcome*** feels like two movies meshed into one, a home invasion thriller and a fun self-aware creature feature. The movie really shines when the creatures are on-screen but it's held back by the generic home invasion storyline that takes too much space. The creatures are funny and the practical effects look amazing, beautiful setting, I liked the intro, cool gory kills, annoying characters and such a weird ending. More Redcaps, please daddy!
The opening scene was tense, heartbreaking, confusing, and shows the evil and disdain that humans can treat one another with which is scary in itself. The movie is all downhill from there. Perhaps if you watch this ironically, you might see the humour behind the horribly crafted creatures that show up later in the film, I did. However, it will remain one of the worst "horror" movies I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through.
that was a strange movie about evil leprechaun with some funny moments. doubt I'll ever watch it again to be honest
