Short, weird, but strangely interesting and funny. The concept is weird but the questions and answers kinda make sense despite being all over the place when you''re missing the context. Could have done without the singing.
Another little sick mesmerizing part of David Lynch’s world.
If it wasn''t a David Lynch''s movie it wouldn''t have so much praise. Absolutely dreadful.
Pay check moment for Mr Lynch?
This film is silly. I will not have any more silliness!
Completely insane, but funny too. Only 17 minutes long. Both of them just spoke random sentences but they fit into the story. The song was funny and in fitting with the whole scene/movie. Loved it 9/10
What the absolute hell did I just watch?
An interesting and evocative short from Lynch, very much in the vein of late-period _Twin Peaks_.
I think David Lynch has gotten a bit overrated. I love a lot of his films, but his shorts for me always come '"short'".

David Lynch changed my life. He was there waiting for me in my undiagnosed neurodivergent teens, to scoop me up into his hands and show me things I'd never dreamed of before. And those things shaped me. Eraserhead, Twin Peaks, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet. Every single one was instrumental in opening my eyes to new feelings, thoughts and experiences. I wouldn't be here talking to you without them. They made me confident, they made me want to create, they made me see the joy in being different rather than it being something to be ashamed of. The news of his death hit me harder than Evil Coop to that Jason Vorhees guy in Part 13 of the Return. I'll miss him, not just for his creations, but for his attitude towards life; his dedication to his artistic principles, the little nicknames he would give his actors, the sudden crude outbursts ("PLASTER OF PARIS BULLSHIT!"), the way he would speak so kindly about his crew and the way they'd never have anything negative to say about him. He was so cuddly in spite of the horror and paranoia we'd see in his pictures. It's such a rarity that you get to have both genius and humanity come from the same mouth consistently. it may feel sad now, but look at all we have to be grateful for! The world was almost made to feel safe with David in it, as if he were guarding the door to the darkness and would only show us what we really needed to see. Now that he's gone, we're gonna need to step up and continue the peace on his behalf.
It's all about **Toototabon**. Is it the true love of the poor little, interrogated monkey, or is Toototabon just his excuse to distract from a terrible murder? Who knows that?
In any case, the monkey finds the right words and always looks like the poor victim of a false interrogation against him through his facial expressions. He remains cool and calm to distract the suspicion of the crime. Well, that goes well until Toototabon appears.
And what should I think of all this now? My first thought was: 'Incredible how emotional and credible the interrogation situation seems and in such a short film length!' Maybe David Lynch wanted to show how much different and more real it can seem if you sit down a real monkey and make him speak using old techniques instead of completely animating him, as today. Whether the film was shot with old cameras, or it is just a filter that lies on the film somehow supported my thought. Just as this completely normal interrogation situation is depicted, I really believe that the animal kingdom plays a major role in the film.
Monkeys go to work, orangutans may not be the smartest, but also have their place in society and all are also subject to human rights.
Even how the monkey spoke and what he said felt honest and not wrong. However, the perspective from bottom to top to the big man, the interrogator, already made clear the inferiority of the little monkey. I really hoped that the poor little one would get out of the situation safely again. _... and all this in 17 minutes._
