This begins as a cute film. It has a light feel to it, yet, it doesn’t hesitate to question gender identification in society. It becomes a brave film. In my mind that takes it from being a good film to a great film. I give this film an 8 (brave) out of 10.

It''s been a good while since I first saw this film and I was pleased to see it pop up on Netflix. It''s still as cute as I remember. Decent as East Asian cinema goes for acting as well. Some really nice moments with plenty of angst and the odd fanfic trope for good measure.
