[Locarno '25] Three characters meet in a dystopian world where the two Koreas have been unified to establish a different kind of division, one that separates humans from mutants born with amphibious limbs. Intelligently managing the modest budget, the director achieves an appropriate balance between melancholic drama, disillusioned dystopia, and a political gaze toward the promises of post-capitalist society. The film creates a disturbing future after an ecological disaster that is imbued with an intelligent political charge, dwelling on the danger of the deterioration of human relations that ultimately provokes collective fear.
