The failed restoration of Borja's Ecce Homo went around the world, becoming a meme. Its creator, Cecilia Giménez, an octogenarian, became the object of jokes but also of adoration when it became a global icon. Today, the Ecce Homo has even been turned into an opera house in Las Vegas.
