Talamasca: The Secret Order - Comments & Tips
After watching the 4th episode I am not seeing how this story will be wrapped up by the end of the season. I can't believe the producers would have the audacity to drag this mediocre story across multiple seasons. Oh, wait this is AMC isn't it.
Just mind-numbingly boring, terrible writing. For the love of god, hire better writers before trying to make a show.
I enjoyed it, especially the last 2or 3 episodes. It's way too much story to fit into only 6 episodes and at times if showed. Still enjoyable overall and I'm looking forward to season 2!
I am not familiar with Nicholas Denton but I see that he has been a television actor for 10 years. His performance in this is terrible. He literally goes blank faced in the middle of scenes and has the personality of a rock. The saving grace is that this is an intriguing enough story and only 6 episodes of it.
Another show that is having trouble in the Immortals universe, it moved slow. a bit too slow. yet some how slow enough to get he story across. The Talamasca isn't some organisation that is constantly doing something riveting, they collect information. They watch, and we were brought along for the ride. Where it suffered is in building relationships, especially between Helen and Guy. The frustration between the two was not well executed, a boy who won't do what she says and a crazy lady who spirited him from the career of his dreams. I hope in season two they are able to come back and do better, as they are making things up as they go and only have very few chapters from The Vampire Chronicles and The Mayfair Witches.
I wrote about this show for the Ignyte-winning, Hugo-winning blog Nerds of a Feather: http://www.nerds-feather.com/2025/12/tv-review-talamasca.html
Terrible acting, horrible accents, boring and poorly written script. One episode and done.
If you thought the writing in Mayfair Witches was bad then boy oh boy get ready for another step down. If you're also (like me) a completionist then do yourself a favor and don't start this. I'm here until it gets cancelled, buy you can still save yourself.
This is a completely forgettable show
If I had a dime for every vampire show that had a white mind-reader MC with a fake American accent and a cast full of different accents, I'd have two dimes.
