Boston Blue - Comments & Tips
I was a huge fan of Blue Bloods and all the actors on the show especially Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg, really felt invested in the show and that family. I was hoping the Boston Blue would be just as good if not better with the right characters to match. But sadly with all the religious nonsense thrown in and woke point making, everything feels so forced. Like they are shoving it down your throat. What's sad is Blue Bloods knew you to tell a story and to get it back to the core which are the Reagans but in this case there is no core just religiousness and wokeness being shoved don't your throat without an origin story. I am still watching the show but sometimes it's really tough to watch.
I made it 20 minutes into the first episode before the woke girlboss quota overflowed. Good luck to everyone else.
Would not recommend this, completely shoves DEI, feminism and Black Victim mentality all over our faces. Plot is predictable and too woke
BOSTON BLUE AIRS ITS FIRST EPISODE 10/18. (CBS/PARAMOUNT+). It is basically a spin-off of #BlueBloods. #DonnyWahlberg picks up where #TomSelleck left off. #CBS may have figured it out. What do #Matlock, #FireCountry, #Tracker, and now #BostonBlue have in common. Yes, they are all scripted dramas that air the following day on CBS' right arm #Paramount+. Here's what I'm driving at. They all star lily-white heroes with mixed race casts (to keep it inclusive). The Eye-network realizes that the majority of Americans are still Caucasians. If you loved Blue Bloods then give Boston Blue a whirl Fri. nights on CBS at 10PM (too late for me) or the next day on Paramount+. See if you notice the difference between #ABC, #NBC and CBS. I know I did! #streamingbanter.
I never watched Blue Bloods mainly because I didn't like Tom Selleck. I do think that Boston Blue is a very good show.
I dropped out. It all seems unreal whether it's played.
I was initially hyped for it but after watching it for a few weeks it feels like the writers are trying too hard to tick a lot of boxes which doesn't work for me. I used to never miss Blue Bloods if I miss this doesn't bother me too much.
Boston Blue snuck up on me. I could never get into Blue Bloods, but I love a good crime procedural - and Sonequa Martin-Green was more than enough to get me to give this a shot. No regrets. The show doesnโt dodge real-world power dynamics around race or family, and while the open displays of religion and its role in family life might turn some people off, it didnโt scare me away. It feels intentional, not preachy. The crimey, puzzle-box storylines are fun, the relationships are genuinely cute, and the whole thing has a surprising amount of heart. Iโm hooked and excited to keep watching.
I really loved watching Blue Bloods. it was a real favourite of mine. Yes the Reagan family cheese was full on sometimes but they managed to balance great characters with great storylines. in Boston Blue, some of the same great characters remain, which is a positive, but thats all. The family setup is just too close to the Reagan family. They ramp up the family cheese to 100, add in some religious soapboxing, jn a horrifically preachy manner, and squander storylines in order to tick boxes. what we end up with is trite, preachy, too close to the original rubbish that's unwatchable. Out of a loyalty to Blue Bloods, I stuck it out for a full episode and partly into a second one, but then I realised, this is awful. It's unwatchable. My life would not be any worse off for removing this from my watch list and it would never replace Blue Bloods which always had me hanging on for more.
All the religious stuff spoils it for me , and the crap at dinner wtf like
Its a bit too cheesy - the whole buddy name thing for example. Not as good as its predecessor so will see if I make it to the end of the season. Shame as there was potential to do something new.
This show would have made a better addition to the Blue Blood Franchise. Bloods had at least a few more seasons left of good story lines. Perhaps exploring the other working-age cast members took the family within New York State while maintaining the Reagan Family Dinners of the Golden Years Family Members. It is a bit much with all the blended family DEI in Boston Blue, but it might have a sustainable audience I honestly do not know. The first season is 1/4 to 1/3rd behind us at episode 6 tonight.
I made 20 minutes poor writing just poor
What a huge pile of junk. If this was to replace Blue Bloods it is an unmitigated disaster. It just doesn't work.
can i enjoy this by seeing it has a standalone show? i haven't seen blue bloods
Painful to watch with all the religious nonsense and woke point making. Won't be watching ep 2
