Chucky - Comments & Tips
it was a big mistake to cancel the show this was one of the best TV shows that reminded me of the 80s and 90s
I was surprised by the first season (as some of the movies weren't that good), it was really entertaining!! I couldn't ask more of the franchise, patiently waiting for season two.
1000% camp I LOVE IT
Chucky Season 1 was a thrilling ride that captured the essence of the original movies. However, Season 2 was a major letdown that went completely off the rails. Season 2 was so bad that it makes me wonder if I should even bother with Season 3.
Season 1 was pretty good and reminded me of the original movies. Season 2 went off the rails and lost it's way.
I like this show a lot! It's definitely my third favorite thing in the entire franchise behind the first two movies. I'll say my one of my biggest issues is that I don't think it really maximizes on the 8 hour runtime. We definitely spend more time with the characters than we would in a traditional Chucky joint, and I think the story really benefits from that, but there's a good bit near the middle that I'm like "alright, let's get on with it!". I also felt like Junior's turn happened way too quickly. I get it, he's traumatized and in a really bad place, but it just happens and it's such a critical plot point that it's hard to look past. These issues aside, I definitely liked this. The child actors are GREAT (Alyvia Alyn Lind in particular), and I really liked how they utilized all sorts of different aspects of Chucky lore to create this new beast. I've often said to my friends that I don't really like Chucky past the first two movies very much... looks like that's changed! Very excited for season 2.
Why add woke LGBT everywhere now?
They ruined the child's play brand with their woke garbage. There is no need for any relationships in a supposably horror tv show, let alone gay relationships. The weak woke virtue signaling ruined what could have been a great addition to the Chucky movies. According to this week's preview, they are doubling down with the this woke garbage as it showed a vehicle with pronouns on the license plates. I'm taking this off my viewing list. I have better things to watch with my time.
I am not very convinced, the animation is good, the setting is acceptable, the performances are very bad, the main actor is not known if he is angry, constipated or sad. And many citations are like saying '"really?'", But if they see it scary moovies style ... it is acceptable
2 votes already and weโve only just seen a teaserโฆ
I was working on Set of this TV in Toronto as a stage hand. I'm glad to see the final product. Good Watch.
slow and poor. very simple
:heart:x5 Not a great series. I found it hard to care about any of the characters. Just a lot of mindless killing. At a couple of spots it seems like there might be a deeper reason for why these people. But in season 1 at least that went nowhere. But in my opinion, the worst offense this show made is that it suddenly switched from fantasy to reality by introducing Tiffany Valentine as real-life "Jennifer Tilly" without any kind of reasoning behind it. How I rate: 1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8  = I expect you will like this too 9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
Why all new shows and movies so shitty???
5 episodes in and I''m finding it hard to stay engaged. The movies were pretty amazing, even the bad ones, due to embracing their outlandish cheesiness... but this show is feeling far too sanitised and formulaic to the point of extreme boredom. It''s not nearly as creative as the movies and the single kill per episode is so '"normal'" and repetitive that it''s underwhelming. We know they can do more. The story is akin to watching paint dry and the characters are completely wooden. Impossible situations start to happen around episode 3, requiring too much suspension of disbelief that I''m yet to recover from by episode 5. With this show''s bland tone, ''Chucky'' has basically turned into another ''Stranger Things'' but with a smidge more violence and less promise. I don''t know how I can remain interested in another 5 episodes if this is the best they can do... maybe the fanservice and throwbacks will help some.
Watched the first 4 episodes today and I am loving it. It''s made by the same guy from all the chucky movies, including the originals, and we can feel the same energy in this tv series. We learn a bit about the childhood of Charles Lee Ray, we have comedic moments as well as scary ones, just as a chucky movie has gotten us used to. Some people are talking about the bad acting. I didn''t noticed anything unusual, maybe because I''m from another country, I don''t know, but so far everything about the show has been a delight to watch for me, as a fan of the original movies.
So far it seems very good. The Chucky animation is very good and they''ve built a solid character foundation. Having it follow on from the main movies with Charles Lee Ray and Brad Dourif is excellent! If it continues on how good episode 1 was it''ll be enjoyable
Not a bad show, but there are scenes where things happen that literally donโt make any sense, just filling up time. I do like the fact that some things from the movies come back.
After a deviation from the original concept in "Seed of Chucky" (2004) and the chaotic "Cult of Chucky" (2017), Don Mancini tries to regain the spirit and make the devil doll bloodthirsty and mischievous. For this, he uses the nostalgia for films that kept the stamp of the 80's slasher movies when it was in decline. The show improves in the development, more than in the presentation and offers good dark humor.
What can I say? I just love this show,I love Chucky and I enjoy this show very much.
For all of its blood-soaked mayhem, though, it''s also worth noting that Chucky is surprisingly warm in terms of its atmosphere and direction.
