Man, this is exhausting. I constantly find myself yelling "What are you doing?!" at the main character. I'm 2 episodes in and I'm a bit yelled out at the moment. Suspense is fun but it becomes irritating when it is created by having a character constantly put themselves in impossible situations, as someone else here put it. It's like whoever wrote this kept asking themself "What's the most reckless thing our protagonist could possibly do in this moment?" and then wrote her doing that exact thing. It feels a bit lazy at times and, unfortunately, it undermines the point that the show seems to want to make: namely that she's underestimated because she's deaf. Instead, she seems to _overestimate_ herself and only gets away with the things she does out of sheer luck. I'm going to cool off for a bit and see if I can find the energy to watch the remaining episodes.

Great premise, good acting, but the biggest problem is Alison character.... She does all the wrong things from ep1, people hurt indirectly, probably got few police fired for using her for undercover when she is not trained either in forensic lip reading or undercover operation. But at the end its shows that everything turns out well for her. The person who always breaks the rules should be competent enough to bring the desired outcome, but then they would write characters like Alison where they are competent but choose horrendous actions while breaking the rules resulting in suffering of others. These type of characters should not be celebrated, as it is irritating and also so that characters be at least be somewhat better to watch.

Unfortunately, the main character is insufferable, unlikeable, and utterly incompetent. From the very start, she makes poor decisions, endangers everyone around her, and shows no ability to work in a team environment. As the only representation of the hearing-impaired community Iโ€™ve seen in media this year, I was hoping for something far better.

I thought this was a brilliant show. the lead actor was awesome, Great story too. I hope that by people watching this it goes on and we do more as a society to accept people who are deaf, Ive often thought we should teach BSL to school kids, at least some basics.

I liked the idea behind the show of a deaf woman being able to read lips to track criminals. The acting was pretty good, but where it lost marks for me was the impossible situations she put herself into. A good twist in the story but not enough to call this a great British crime drama.

The sound is not in sink with the people speaking on screen which makes the show seem like itโ€™s dubbed. Or it my streaming that is messed up?

Good idea, badly executed. As many others have said, the character of Alison is so flawed that there is very little reason for the police or Liam to want to deal with her, making the whole story a little ridiculous by the end. Shame.

I wasn't expecting much from this but I binged it in two sittings, some of it was a bit far fetched but overall enjoyable and it actually had a ending

This is a great show. Very suspense-y! I love the way that a disabled person is championed. It's about time. Great acting and a great story well told.
