Deserves wide distribution, outstanding sci-fi.

problem = seems like a B-grade sci-fi tv show with poor cgi and desert people running around bickering a lot this ain''t no The Mandalorian or Lost in Space or Mars or For All Mankind (all of those are much better)

Definitely deserves watching. It''s a good post apocalyptic sci-fi and has some original ideas. Edit: It is created by Orson Scott Card. Of course it would have great story and ideas.

Definitely too slow, may have slept over some of episodes but no regrets for most of it, was worth watching.

Glad I found this show. It's good and keeps me watching. The thing that makes my rating lower is that it is a suspense based show where they give you information one bit at a time. The full story could be as disappointing as the secrets behind Scientology. You just won't know till you watch the whole thing. That's annoying. So far, I like the characters and situation. It has story elements that I find new and creative. I don't agree with the reviews that say it is just recycling overused concepts, that it's cringy, or amateurish. It has a fresh perspective of wholesomeness that runs through it. That is what makes it stand out as most different. People aren't used to that. This show as well as everything else on the BYU network is wholesome, so be prepared for family approved viewing.

This show is written by Orson Scott Card - if that puts you off because of the near-constant howling of outrage mobs - well shame on you. It's made by Brigham Young University - The Mormons. But don't let that distract you... as I did at first. This is a well made and interesting show. There's no religious lecturing in it... but it's quite unlike a lot of modern TV/movies. No gratuitous sex or violence... no crass woke... no LGBT inserts... but a lot of interesting SCIFI ideas. The show really deserved a better fate than just one obscure season. It's perfectly enjoyable.

A lot of the time it''s very amateurish: cringy dialogue and delivery. The most generic phrases and ''jokes''. It feels like I''m watching a school play. Or actual aliens trying to imitate humans and failing. The story sounded like an original idea at least, but the execution is just a bunch of recycled overused things strung together, too.

I liked it when it first started playing. Wow. Great beginning. I hope it has more than one seasson. I''m watching it right now.

Having just watched the first season, it feels like a mix between the first seasons of Stargate SG-1 and Falling Skies. There are some hiccups along the way (some terrible pieces of writing, including but not limited to a weird religious undertone - you''d think that went extinct along with the human race, but no) but I still think it''s promising.

Has it ended with only 1 season? I was really enjoying it .

This is my first ever post on anything, anywhere ever!!! So Wish me Luck. Extinct features some quite interesting sci-fi themes and ideas in this new series such as the possible futre uses of nanotechnology, time-travel and AI to mention a few. Set in a dystopian future 400 yrs hence, it focuses on the trials, tribulations and conundrums that a nano-regenerated group of humans face to restart society in a desolate and barren world. The regenerated humans have also to contend with unknown alien parasites and the presence of a powerful, but unknown alien power/force. For a lowish budget series the program has some passable SFX and the level of acting (especially Victoria Atkin and Chad Michael Collins who looks like a younger Denis Quaid), is quite good generally, as are the reasonable smattering of action scenes, though it's not quite Star Wars. All in all, I feel that as a program that it is quite entertaining and worth viewing. I'd really like to see what other people think. Worth a discussion at least. I think? PS: (There are eight episodes available online as of Oct 1st, on certain websites, so if you can find them you can have a little bit of binge as I did....... if you want too). Looking forward to all comments. :)
