All I have to say so far is that this is really overdue, & it's really awesome to have this representation! Regular Drag Race has had over 16 US seasons, multiple spin-offs, and multiple versions in other countries, & yet after all these long long years, you won't find a king. In fact, trans & AFAB representation alone is just dog-shit in the Drag Race multi-verse. The only time we get trans queens are very much due to Ru wanting to improve his image, as he's quite transphobic, & so are his shows. Practically the only time I've seen anyone who was NB, or a drag king, has been on Boulet Brothers (maybe 1 or 2 NB queens? One was in Holland. Unless the person said so after they left the show.) I've only seen 1 AFAB queen on Drag Race. Drag Race is basically just for those AMAB, the majority being cis men. Boulet Brothers was great for the first 3 seasons, until it became mostly about the fighting/drama they create between contestants. 75% of the series became people just bickering. How can people enjoy this? They don't even spend much time showing us the creation of their costumes anymore, or go to any of the cool locations that they used to! Both of these drag shows are so freaking boring & stressful now, that they are not worth it anymore I understand some people do enjoy that, but I really think it's detrimental to people watching, & even more-so, the community. It's so stressful to watch, & it just adds to our current world culture of nastiness. We don't need _so_ many series where everyone is just horrible to each other. It's not necessary, & it is absolutely harming the mental health of anyone watching. There are already so many of them, anyway! That's why King of Drag was such a breath of fresh air! Everyone is so supportive of each other, & kind. The community is especially in need of representation that makes us feel good & supports us. We deal with _enough_ nastiness & hate from the world... I don't mind the low budget. In fact I appreciate it, because it allows there to be more focus on the people in the show. I love everybody in the cast, & have a crush on so many of them! Everyone is so genuine, & I love to see their drag. Watch it if you haven't already! If you prefer "reality" TV where the people _aren't_ so nasty to each other all the time, this is for you. Not to mention how awesome drag kings are! Could it be better? Sure, but I'll take it, & I'll enjoy it. :)
