Pole to Pole with Will Smith - Comments & Tips

Ep 1 Very leading in my opinion. I'll try Ep 2 tomorrow

This is so scripted it ain't even funny. How are cameras panning between him and his partner under the north pole or on the south pole or the anaconda and spiders episodes. Slow paced 💩 with no real end results of most of the trips smh

Admittedly, I was sceptical at first. I feared it would be like 'Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted', where the famous chef tries to make us believe he's doing more than he actually is. But everyone can see that every accomplishment is staged and supported by a huge team of people. However, whereas Gordon Ramsay's performance screams 'look what I achieved', Will Smith merely acts as a mediator, taking us to various places. From what I've seen so far, the episodes focus on places and topics that transcend any individual actor. In one episode, for example, I was impressed by the insight into the lives of indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest and the issues they face that affect us all. Overall, Will Smith uses his popularity to make us aware of bigger things. And that's enough for me to enjoy the show and think about what I can do as an individual.
