Ricky Gervais: Mortality - Comments & Tips
meh, but ok. My first special for him, know him and his work but there was no great laugh out loud moments
Can't say it was the funniest show, but it was okay. Too many toilet jokes for my taste this time, and most of them not too funny.
I enjoyed this, laughed at a lot of it and felt it was worth the watch. I feel like if you liked Ricky before you would enjoy this.
Bloody fantastic. Such a wise man. I love how he truly is a jester, being able to say true things that are too uncomfortable for โnormalโ people to say. Thanks mate.
I LOVE Ricky Gervais, but I expected much more after all the breaking attendance records etc. It was more of a commentary than an actual comedy, then it just ended. The funny bits were spaced so far apart that it wasn't constant belly-aching, gut-bustlingly funny (honestly, I don't think there as one thing that really made me laugh hard - other shows I've been literally crying with laughter). I'd be seriously upset if I'd paid money to sit there for 56 minutes and didn't laugh much. Max of 6/10
I was expecting more. It just ended abruptly. Indeed there were some high points but...
**My Score: 6.5/10** An alright stand-up by Ricky Gervais, nothing in comparison to his previous stand-ups, but a solid, authentic attempt. It is actually great to see that even after all the controversies, he still is the exact same comedian, finding the same things funny and joking about them. In that sense, _Mortality_ is one of his most honest performances.
Well, that ended stupidly. Not just the ridiculous lie that โalcohol is poisonโ. (Alcohol is actually made, in small quantities, by your own body, so it canโt be a poison) But the whole show weirdly came to an end.
RICKY GERVAIS: MORTALITY IS A STAND-UP SPECIAL. GRADE: B. (NETFLIX). It has been two years since his last special. We waited two years for #RickyGervaisMortality a stand up special on #Netflix. Was it worth the wait? I say NO. Don't get me wrong...there are still some hilarious moments in the special. Few are more enamored with Gervais' humor more than I. Remember when #LennyBruce was near the end? I did not have a vivid memory of it even though I was 14 years old when he died of a morphine overdose. His routines were more about him...HIM, HIM, HIM all the time. When Ricky hosted #TheGoldenGlobes he was at his height. He is still unique and really funny as he proves in the second half of Mortality. Watch it and see for yourself! #streamingbanter.
