Decent anime with an overpowered main character. Nothing too great nothing too bad.

This was one of the best and original Anime I have seen in a decade easily. Just to put my opinion in contexts I have found most Anime shows in the last few years to be pretty much rehash of 90''s and early 2000''s Anime over and over in one form or another. This one however, was Fun and Original. The only real negative I would say is that there is some bad CGI ingratiation on a few scene on 3 episodes. This was largely due to the fact this is a new studio and the 3 episodes were rushed, in fact two of the episodes were aired 2 days late because they were still working on the CGI. But it''s easily over looked, the show still has some of the best visual air combat I have seen in Anime even with those bumpy CGI spots.

This show snuck up on me. What started as a random background play turned into one of the most unexpectedly compelling anime experiences I’ve had in a while. The premise alone — a cold-blooded atheist salaryman reincarnated as a ruthless little girl in a magical warzone, forced to serve a god he hates — is something I didn’t even know I wanted to see. And yet… it works, brilliantly. Tanya carries the entire show — and that’s not a flaw, it’s the point. The title doesn’t lie. If you’re here for a deep ensemble cast, you’re in the wrong trench. But if you’re here to watch pure ambition, cruelty, and divine irony collide through one of the most fascinating protagonists in anime? Welcome to war. I went in expecting something more like Akame ga Kill based on the title — high body count, chaotic evil. But this hits different. It’s a tight, focused story about power, defiance, and twisted faith. I'm definitely watching to the end. PS — even the Dub is impressive watched it in both and continued with the dub. It earns my respect. An easy 8 for creativity, execution, and the sheer uniqueness of its concept.

While the show was unique and original I had trouble associating with any of the characters. Only the main character was really followed, and the other characters had no backstory and didn't have any growth during the season. Similarly, the main character has an interesting backstory of how she came to be in the situation, but this was hardly developed during the show, and more time was spent on the progress of the war than progressing any main story. The story of how Tanya got into this situation is the real curiosity. Also, I didn't find Tanya to be particularly evil, just skilled.

Reincarnating an office guy into a loli witch to fight for the Germans during an alternative WWII, this was quite an unexpected pitch. And even more surprising to see how well they wrote the characters. I still have the feeling that they had built a huge potential in the first few episodes, but only exploited a part of it afterwards. Too bad, would still recommend though.
