Skyscraper Live - Comments & Tips

Great coverage but absolutely (beyond) terrible commentators. the direction really ruined the live adrenaline experience. Why are we showed things like interviews and video clips taking away from teaching him climb second by second. That ruined the live event.

Watched this live and it was nail biting from start to finish. A very impressive guy.

Alex Honnold 10/10 Commentators 0/10 "_i'm gonna rest a bit and clean out my shoes and hands_" "_hey emily what do you think is going on in his mind right now? it sounds like he's gonna clean out his shoes and hands_" "_yeah...it looks like he's cleaning out his shoes and hands_" i get they had to make free solo climbing, typically not a spectator sport, palatable as a 1-hour live television special but the commentary was awful and all the pre-shot packages just reeked of manipulative _american ninja warrior_ heartstring pulling complete with a million "family man new-ish dad" edits. alex remains goated but I woulda enjoyed this more with 0 commentary

As always, he's a super talented climber and a nice guy - but the commentators and the "Geraldo Opens The Safe" style of hosting this was cringy pretty much 100% of the time.
